2-D Shapes (Chapters 1 & 2)
Lesson 9: Trapezoids (1.1)
Learning Goals of Lesson 9
By the end of this lesson, I can:
-find perimeter of a trapezoid by adding all 4 sides
-find area of a trapezoid by multiplying the sum of the top
and bottom bases by height then dividing the result by 2
-find base or height of a trapezoid given the perimeter
-find base or height of a trapezoid given the area
-solve area and perimeter problems of trapezoids
Video 1: What is a Trapezoid?
Video 2: Trapezoids and Isosceles Trapezoids
Video 3: Area of a Trapezoid & Area of a Parallelogram
Video 4: Perimeter of a Trapezoid
Video 5: Area of a Trapezoid
Video 6: Trapezoid as a Composite Shape
Video 7: Find One Base of a Trapezoid Given Area
Video 8: Find the Height of a Trapezoid Given Area
Video 9: Find Height Using Pythagoream Theorem
Remember: The height of a trapezoid is always perpendicular to the bases.
